KATHLEEN RHODES, PhD, LMFT, CAP

Clinical Director

Dr. Kathleen Rhodes is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Addictions Professional and a Diplomat of the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists who specializes in individual, couples and family therapy. As the Clinical Director of Fifth Street Counseling Center IV, Dr. Rhodes oversees a team of qualified mental health professionals at all three Broward County locations.

With over 15 years experience as a marriage and family therapist, and as a graduate of Nova Southeastern University specializing in marriage and family therapy, as well as substance abuse, she currently directs a variety of programs that serve a broad spectrum of clients.

Dr. Rhodes professional goal is to rebuild lives, restore families and improve communities. This is accomplished by providing quality, individualized and comprehensive addiction treatment for those experiencing problems with alcohol, drugs and associated mental illnesses. She is committed to excellence in the delivery of care and services and to the recovery of her clients and their families.

In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, Dr. Rhodes is often called upon to speak at professional conferences and to students in graduate programs.

GARRY SMYTH, BA, CAS
Certified Addiction Specialist — Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Smyth’s role as both a Certified Addiction Specialist and Chief Operating Officer is to provide leadership to the company and to oversee the day-to-day operations at all five Broward County locations and to ensure that our clients receive the best possible care in the most comfortable atmosphere and that their needs are managed professionally at all times.

In addition, he is responsible for the management and development of the company’s mission and objectives and to oversee company operations to insure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. Mr. Smyth is also a Florida – approved Batterer Intervention Facilitator. Mr. Smyth is also a Board member of FADAA, The Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association, representing Florida’s premiere community-based substance abuse and co-occurring treatment and prevention agencies, managing entities and community anti-drug coalitions. He is appointed to the Broward County Commission Substance Abuse Advisory Board, which advises the Broward Addiction Recovery Center, known locally as BARC. Mr. Smyth serves on the United Way of Broward County Board of Governors Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention and is Chair of the Committee on Behavioral Health Advocacy. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Behavioral Health Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Fellowship Living Facilities, as well as the Fellowship Foundation Board and is an active member of the Florida Association of Drug Court Professionals and the ChildNet Provider Advisory Board. Mr. Smyth is a member of the Broward County Reentry Coalition, Community Solutions of Broward and the Broward County Community Response Team.
